Protien Phyologenetic Trees

This web page was produced as an assignment for Gen677 at UW-Madison Spring 2009

Title.

Analysis of the amino acid sequence of SIRT6 through the use of phylogeny.fr, this analysis demonstrates the simiularity between the amino acid of each species and creates a predictided phylogenetic tree.  The probility of this prediction being right is indicated by the numbers in red.

GeeBee Phylogenetic tree

This analysis of the Amino acid sequence of SIRT6 was done through GeeBee with boot strap, this phylogeny shows a similar results to my DNA phylogenetic tree and also to my other phylogenetic tree of protein sequences.  The benfit of using boot strap analysis is it resamples the possible trees a hundred times and gives the highest percentage phylogenetic tree.

Conclusions

From my different analysis to determin related ancestory through the Amino acid sequence of SIRT6 I was able to create two very similuar phylogenetic trees, that used two different methods to create these trees.  Demonstrated in both trees homo sapiens and Pan troglodytes are very similar to each other.  While mouse and rat are close but are in the same larger branch.  While the others like Gallus, Danio, and Drosophil are out on there own tree branches.
